Twenty-seven chickens and two rabbits perish in a chicken coop fire east of Milton. Rock County Sheriff’s Deputies and Whitewater firefighters responded to the garage size coop on North County KK about 11:30 Monday night. First responders found the coop fully engulfed in flames then they arrived. Residents in the nearby single-family farmhouse were evacuated as a precaution, because some embers from the cooper were hitting the roof. The coop was completely destroyed. The cause isn’t known yet.
