The Rock County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a fatal traffic accident on Highway 14 east of Janesville. The Sheriff’s Office reports the 911 center received a call at 6:22 a.m. Thursday morning about a pickup truck all over the road, causing vehicles to take evasive action. Moments late a two vehicle head-on crash was reported. Witness statements indicate the pickup was traveling west on Highway 14, in the wrong lane of traffic, near Emerald Grove Road. Deputies say the pickup hit a semi head-on. The driver of the pickup, and lone occupant, was pronounced dead at the scene. The 67-year-old driver of the semi was taken to the hospital with unknown internal injuries. Authorities are waiting to release the name of the victim until the family can be notified. The highway was closed for six hours.
