The Janesville Police Department hopes to prevent heroin addiction by attacking it where it starts.
Police Chief Dave Moore says that’s why the Police Department is teaming up with the School District of Janesville for a series of presentations to the physical education classes at both high schools.
Two Janesville Police offers who are knowledgeable about addiction will be joined by a former heroin addict for the 90 minute presentations Tuesday and Wednesday.
Police Chief Dave Moore and Superintendent Karen Schulte announced the plan at a joint news conference Monday afternoon.
