AUDIO: Beer sales might be considered during Rock County Fair

The Rock County Fair Board is looking for ways to close a revenue gap. The idea of allowing beer sales to help the Rock County Fair quench growing revenue shortfalls might not sit well with attendees. Fair Board President Randy Thompson says the board is currently simply gathering information on whether beer sales could help improve the fair’s sustainability. Thompson says one challenge is the skyrocketing cost of quality entertainment. Some supporters suggest it might be time to reduce that expense. Thompson says fair officials are consulting organizers of other fairs. Rock and Walworth counties are believed to be among the last dry-fairs in Wisconsin.
