Car trouble may have helped local law enforcement catch a suspected drunk driver. Janesville police say an officer tried to stop a vehicle about 2:00 a.m. Thursday morning in the 14-hundred block of East Racine Street. The driver is accused of speeding off, and after about a mile, the pursuing officer suspended the chase for safety reasons. A short time later though a Rock County Sheriff’s deputy found the vehicle disabled near Avalon Road. 25-year-old Kyle S. Gilstrap of Footville faces charges including Operating While Intoxicated Second Offense and Knowingly Fleeing an Officer. Police say a breath sample registered a blood alcohol concentration of 0.18, which is more than twice the legal limit.
