
A local political expert says he’s never seen a presidential campaign like this year’s. The popularity of Republican Presidential candidate Donald Trump and Democrat Bernie Sanders indicates the electorate may be fed up with politics as usual according to U-W Whitewater’s Jonah Ralston. The Assistant Professor of Political Science tells Your Talk Show on WCLO many of the the traditional voting blocks don’t seem to matter, but what does, is an individual’s feelings about control. He says those who like totalitarianism tend to like Donald Trump. He says Trump appeals to a disenfranchised middle class. He says Democrat Bernie Sanders appears to have to also have the appeal of those who want to see a change it the way America is run.
