A primary is likely in the Rock County Treasurer’s race. A second Democrat has announced his intentions to run. Former Rock County Clerk’s Office staffer David Babcock of Janesville says he’s already familiar with the state statutes, county operation and budget cycles. Babcock also says having worked side by side with the treasurer’s office, he has firsthand knowledge and a good rapport with staff. Democrat Michelle L. Roettger of Janesville, currently works in the treasurer’s office, and has also taken out papers to run. Current Treasurer Vicki Brown has already announced her retirement.
