A local fire department find some success using an antidote for narcotic overdose cases. Beloit Deputy Fire Chief Joseph Murray says paramedics used Narcan to save two victims in a single day this week. Murray says responding to drug overdose cases is almost routine. He warns Narcan, as it’s commonly known, has its drawbacks. He says patients can become combative, or face immediate withdrawal. Murray says paramedics typically only use the antidote when trying to get victims breathing again.
