A long time local State Representative wants to change jobs. Democrat Andy Jorgensen of Milton says he won’t be running for Assembly this fall, but rather plans to run for Rock County Register of Deeds. Jorgensen says the decision wasn’t easy. It was talked about with his family for a long time and is what’s best for them. With a daughter in middle school, a son in high school, and another son in college, he’d like to spend more time closer to home. He says he also wants to continue serving his community. Jorgensen says one thing he’s learned during his five-terms in Madison, is how to run a government office. Jorgensen won’t be on the ballot alone. Deputy Register of Deeds Sandy Disrud of the Town of Beloit has also announced plans to run for the post.
