Wisconsin’s growing importance in the Presidential primaries may help the local economy. Janesville Area Convention and Visitors Bureau Director Christine Rebout says any Presidential campaign visit brings in money. Before Republican Candidates Ted Cruz and Donald Trump both announced planned visits to Janesville, Rebout says she starting getting calls. She used that opportunity not simply to suggest venues, but also suggest visits to other area attractions. Rebout says having campaigns visit this time of year is especially beneficial because it’s before the summer tourism season.
