New Janesville ordinance offers protections for transgender people

The Janesville City Council passes an ordinance which allows individuals to use the bathroom of the gender that they identify with.
Council member Sam Liebert introduced the ordinance along with council member Mark Bobzein.
Although several people spoke out against the proposal fearing that sexual predators would take advantage of it, the City Council approved the ordinance in a unanimous vote.
The ordinance is designed to prevent discrimination in public accommodations and employment for a variety of classes of people.
