A 28-year-old former Janesville man is sentenced to 18 months in prison on charges of armed robbery and fleeing.
Darrell Smith is accused masterminding a plan to rob a drug dealer in January of last year. The victim was knocked to the ground, robbed of $80 and pistol whipped.
Smith and two others were apprehended shortly after the assault following a high speed chase with police which ended in a crash.
In addition to the 18 months Judge James Daley sentenced Smith to (Wednesday) for fleeing, he was given a 15 year stayed sentence on the armed robbery.
Smith is already serving prison time until 2031 on an unrelated matter, meaning he will be 45 when he is released from custody.
