Janesville students encouraged to design City billboards

The City of Janesville, School District of Janesville and Diversity Action Team of Rock County have teamed up to hold a design contest for the City’s 2016 billboard campaign, titled “One Janesville”. The contest asks students to design a billboard that represents what Janesville would look like to them if it was inclusive and welcoming to all races, ethnicities and cultures.
All students through age 18 living or attending school within the City of Janesville are eligible to participate in this contest.The contest rules, entry form and design template can be downloaded for printing here. Entries must be submitted by 4 p.m. on Thursday, May 26, 2016 to one of the following:

 The finalists and winners from each age group (5 – 11 years old, 12 – 14 years old and 15 – 18 years old) will be recognized at a community celebration picnic sponsored by the Diversity Action Team of Rock County. This picnic, which is scheduled for Sunday, June 12, 1 p.m. at the Riverside Park South Pavilion, is open to the public. Billboard design winners will also be recognized at an upcoming Janesville City Council meeting.
The City of Janesville is proud to continue its collaborative relationship with the School District of Janesville and Diversity Action Team of Rock County, and looks forward to promoting inclusion and tolerance within the community through this billboard campaign.
