Janesville police are investigating a robbery outside the El Jardin Restaurant in the 2500 block of Center Avenue. Sergeant Todd Kleisner says officers responded just before 6:30 Friday morning. Kleisner says the suspects had confronted an employee with a bank deposit behind the restaurant. During a struggle, the employee suffered a superficial knife wound to the leg. A police dog was brought in to track the suspects, but lost their trail to the north of the restaurant. The suspects are described as two male blacks. One in his mid-20’s, about six-feet tall with a heavier build, wearing a red long-sleeved shirt. The other is believed to be in his late-teens, shorter and thinner than the first suspect, and wearing a gray hooded sweatshirt.
