AUDIO REPORT: Janesville City Council chooses youth for leadership position

A little break from tradition for the restructuring of the Janesville City Council. Janesville’s newest council member is now the body’s vice president. As part of the restructuring process following the spring elections, 19-year-old Jens Jorgensen was chosen Tuesday morning by his fellow council members in a unanimous vote. First elected back in 2011, Sam Liebert was chosen council president on a four-to-three vote, despite not being the current vice-president which was the custom for years.
