Beloit girls soccer team plays for suicide awareness

On Thursday, April 21st, the Beloit Knitro Soccer Co-op Team will be hosting a Suicide Awareness Night when they play Janesville Parker at 5:00 pm (JV) and 7:00 pm (Varsity) on Jacobson Field in Beloit.
There will be food, raffles and t-shirts available for purchase that evening.  Proceeds from the evening will go towards a scholarship for a student that has been impacted by suicide.
The Beloit Knitro Girls Soccer Team is a co-op between the School District of Beloit and the School District of Beloit-Turner.  The image on the shirts being sold state “One City, One Team – Nobody is Alone”.
This event was the brainchild of senior captain Esmeralda Nativida, assisted by several teammates.  Coach Brian Denu is proud of his team and fully supports the cause, saying “One of our former Knitro players was lost in 2014 as the result of suicide.  Our hope is that raising awareness will let others see that ‘Nobody is Alone’.”
