The threat of new diseases has a local legislator wanting to ensure the public gets timely information from the state. Deb Kolste of Janesville says a review of a Department of Health Services article got her wondering if information about the recent Elizabethkingia outbreak was delayed. The Democrat says with the looming threat of Zika, she’d like state policies clarified. Kolste says Democrats on the Assembly Health committee have called for a public hearing on the Elizabethkingia outbreak in Wisconsin.
