For the first time in the history of Lincoln-Tallman House tours, the art and furniture will be in the spotlight.
Walk the halls of the Lincoln-Tallman House with Art History professor Mark Pohlad, PhD and view the art and furniture of the Tallman family up close. Pohlad teaches Art History at DePaul University in Chicago, where his courses include American art history, the History of Design, and classes on topics such as Abraham Lincoln and Chicago architecture.
Tours are very limited with only 10 spots available per tour and only offered 8 times throughout the year. Tours will be offered on the following dates and times:
- Thursday, May 12th at 5:00pm and 7:00pm
- Sunday, May 15th at 1:00pm and 5:00pm
- Thursday, September 15th at 5:00pm and 7:00pm
- Sunday, September 18th at 1:00pm and 5:00pm
Tickets for Uncovering Tallman’s Treasures are $15 each and can be purchased online at www.rchs.us/tallman-tours/, over the phone at 608-756-4509, or in person at the Helen Jeffris Wood Museum Center located at 426 N. Jackson St. in Janesville. It is recommended to purchase tickets in advance as space is limited.
Each tour lasts approximately 90 minutes and will include a glass of white wine or sparkling cider. Tours will begin at the Helen Jeffris Wood Museum Center, and parking is available in the Franklin Street parking lot behind the Museum Center, or on the curb of Jackson Street.
