Janesville School District employees who take advantage of district healthcare for their domestic partner may have a little longer to decide if they want to tie the knot.
The Board of Education considered a proposal Tuesday night which – if approved – would discontinue coverage for domestic partners within six months.
Commissioner Dale Thompson says he needs more time before making a decision.
Thompson’s motion to delay a vote until June 14th passed in a six to three vote.
If approved, the measure would affect six employees and save the district a little over $30,000.
