The Town of Beloit Fire Department is investigating a blaze at a residence in the 1900 block of South Glen Avenue. Firefighters arrived about noon Monday to find heavy smoke and flames showing from the south side of the home, a car, and the detached garage. Officials say the fire was under control within minutes, but the garage and home sustained significant damage, and the car is a total loss. One resident was evaluated on the scene and released by MD1. The Red Cross is assisting the family.
