The City of Janesville has been awarded the 2016 Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources Basic Recycling Grant in the amount of $215,379.
This grant award will assist in offsetting the City’s recycling program costs during 2016. The grant is made available to responsible units, such as the City of Janesville, for residential recycling and yard waste program costs that are reasonable and necessary for planning and operating an effective recycling program. The amount of the grant is determined on a per capita basis.
The amount awarded in 2016 is higher than anticipated due to the State restoring these grants to previous funding levels.
