Members of the local LGBT community are reacting with horror and alarm to the 49-deaths caused Sunday by a lone gunman in an Orlando nightclub. State Representative Mark Spreitzer of Beloit calls the attack an act of terror and a hate crime, but also urges against making scapegoats of an entire group of people. Spreitzer does encourage taking action to promote legal and social equality, as well as, keeping dangerous weapons out of the hands of those seeking to do harm.
