Aging and Disability Resource Center hosts “Healthy Living for your Brain”

The Aging and Disability Resource Center (ADRC) of Rock County and the South Central Chapter of the Alzheimer’s Association will host a free Healthy Living for Your Brain program at 6 PM on Wednesday, June 22nd at the Job Center, 1900 Center Avenue, Janesville. This program will be presented by Bonnie Nutt of the Southcentral Alzheimer’s Association.
For centuries, we’ve known that the health of the brain and the body are connected. But now, science is able to provide insights into how to make lifestyle choices that may help you keep your brain and body healthy as you age. Join us to learn about research in the areas of diet and nutrition, exercise, cognitive activity and social engagement, and use hands-on tools to help you incorporate these recommendations into a plan for healthy aging.
“There continues to be no way to prevent, slow or cure Alzheimer’s disease, but we can make healthy choices now, that may impact our brain health,” stated Ms. Nutt. This free program is open to the public and is part of our ongoing Dementia Friendly Rock County Initiatives. Optional free memory screens will be provided at the conclusion of the program.
