12 puppies are under the care of the Humane Society of Southern Wisconsin after being seized from a Janesville resident.
The Rock County Sheriff’s Office says deputies executed a search warrant at a residence on the 4800 block of West US Highway 14 just before 10:30 Wednesday morning after receiving a tip from the Wisconsin Department of Agriculture.
A dozen mixed breed puppies all less than 10 weeks old were seized and placed under the care of the Humane Society.
Sheriff’s Captain Jude Mauer says the puppies were suffering from various ailments that are consistent with neglect.
The case remains under investigation.
