Wisconsin and Rock County are often noted in national studies for alcohol abuse, but a police operation in Janesville this week may point to a changing trend. The police department’s Street Crimes Unit worked with Janesville Mobilizing 4 Change to evaluate what percentage of local stores might sell alcohol to underage customers. Twenty-three businesses, including gas stations, groceries, and liquor stores were checked. Police say all followed local ordinances and state law. None sold to the underage undercover operatives.
