The Democratic Party of Rock County has issues with Republican First Congressional District candidate Paul Nehlen. The dispute appears to stem from statements Democrats say Nehlen made at the Rock County Fair. Party Vice Chair of Communications Joseph Long says they’re filing a complaint with the Federal Elections Commission alleging Nehlen told Democrats they could vote for both parties on next Tuesday’s primary. Nehlen contends he never told anyone they could cross party vote on the same ballot. He calls that “absurd on its face”. Long accuses Nehlen of ill intent by asking Democrats for their vote. Nehlen says he does encourage Democrats to vote for him and oust Incumbent Republican Paul Ryan. Long admits that’s not illegal.
