Janesville School District moving ahead with cost cutting measures

Janesville’s Board of Education Tuesday approves a measure that will save taxpayers 4 million dollars over 12 years.
The measure is a refunding of 41 million dollars that will replace bonds issued in 2007 and 2008 related to the renovation of Parker and Craig High Schools.
The Board also approved a measure under Act 32 to spend 1.6 million dollars above the revenue cap next year on energy related improvements that will actually save taxpayers money.
Board member Cathy Myers says the improvements are multifaceted.
The final amount of savings regarding the energy improvements will be determined in late October.
