A 25-year-old single mother, accused of hitting a child on a bike in Beloit, says she knows how she’d feel if it had been her child. Rock County Judge Michael Haakenson Wednesday morning sentenced Amber Dawn Mayfield to 60-days in jail and two-years probation on hit-and-run and obstructing an officer charges. Mayfield was arrested a little over a week after the incident last November at the intersection of Madison Road and McKinley Avenue. The child luckily only suffered minor injuries.
