A Janesville hospice is recognized for its work on behalf of veterans. Mercy Home Health and Hospice has been recognized by “We Honor Veterans” as a level four partner. Mercy Home Health and Hospice Director Todd Schell says this is the highest level of award and recognizes Mercy’s veteran-centered education for staff and volunteers. He says veterans can have very unique end-of-life needs. He says they’re also seeking veteran volunteers for their program. He says veteran volunteers play a special role in ceremonies and sharing common experiences with patients.
