Forward Janesville is endorsing a set of Milton School District referendums on the November ballot. The Janesville based chamber of commerce released a statement saying it considered both referendums and decided they would strike a balance between Milton Schools’ long-term needs and the cost to taxpayers. One of the referendum questions asks voters within the Milton School District for permission to spend up to $87 million on capital improvements, including a new high school. The other question asks voters to allow the school district to spend beyond the revenue cap by $2.5 million a year for five-years. The statement also says Forward Janesville considered options including remaining silent on the two referendums or backing a modified referendum in the future.
