Human West Nile case probable in Rock County

The Rock County Health Department reports the year’s first probable human case of West Nile virus.  Officials say the chances of contracting the mosquito borne illness are low, and only one-percent ever develop serious symptoms.  Environmental Health Director Tim Banwell is urging caution though.  He advises home owners to clear any standing water, dress properly, and use repellent.  He says this is the worst time of year for contracting the disease because the mosquitoes have been spreading it in the animal population all summer.
