The Rock County Sheriff’s Office doesn’t typically host a retirement party for an officer who’s only been on the job for just six-years, but it will for K9 Dex. K9 Unit Supervisor Sergeant Wayne Hansen says Dex has been invaluable with a number of investigations, but especially sniffing out illegal drugs. Hansen says Dex has wracked up a long list of accolades including apprehending criminals, locating lost individuals, and three-hundred narcotic sniffs resulting in numerous arrests. The retirement ceremony is planned for 10:00 a.m. Tuesday morning at the Sheriff’s Office.
