Rockford man faces federal charges in connection with robbery of Beloit business

A Rockford man who’s charged in Rock County Court in connection with the armed robbery of a Beloit wireless store is indicted in federal court as well.
The U.S. Attorney’s Office says 30-year-old Dannell L. Sampson is charged with armed robbery and using a firearm during a crime of violence.
Sampson and another man are accused of tying up employees at the Beloit AT&T store at gunpoint on November 1st and making off with a number of cell phones and tablets.
Sampson was previously sentenced to more than five years in federal prison for robbing banks in Illinois.
If convicted on the new federal charges he faces up to life in prison.
