Hundreds of Santa hats will color the downtown landscape this weekend as the third annual Santa Pub Crawl takes place Sunday, December 4 from 11 AM to 5 PM in downtown Janesville. This marks the third year for the popular event hosted by downtown restaurant and bar owners to raise funds for Project 16:49. A $10 admission includes a Santa Hat and Christmas card that can be stamped at participating locations then entered into a drawing for great prizes, including tickets to a Green Bay Packers game. Individual locations will have other raffles and activities happening throughout the day, as well.
The drawing for the winner of the Christmas Cash 50/50 raffle will be held that evening at 6 PM at Wiggy’s Saloon, 9 N Parker Drive. Tickets are available now at all participating Pub Crawl locations (below), and will be sold until 5 PM the day of the event. Tickets are $5 each.
Attendees can start at any of the 8 participating locations and continue on in any order. Santa Pub Crawl locations are: Wiggy’s Saloon, Whiskey Ranch, Trading Spaces Bar & Grill, Time Out Pub & Eatery, The Looking Glass, Riley’s Sports Bar and Grill, O’Riley & Conway’s Irish Pub, and Legends Tavern.
Proceeds from the event and Christmas Cash 50/50 raffle will benefit Project 16:49’s mission of empowering Rock County’s unaccompanied homeless youth to take action to achieve their goals. Project 16:49 is a local, year-round resource for these students. The organization assists with basic needs, and helps ensure youth have access to the services and support they need to complete their high school education and increase their self-sufficiency as they transition into adulthood. More than 300 unaccompanied homeless students are identified in Rock County each year.
Last year’s Santa Pub Crawl raised $8,300 for Project 16:49. Event organizers hope to bring in $10,000 this year.
In conjunction with the pub crawl, a pop-up shopping event featuring local direct sales reps and other small businesses will be held at Hilltop International Pub from 11 AM to 4 PM. A variety of holiday gift ideas will be available to purchase. Vendors also will be raffling great prizes to add to the Santa Pub Crawl fundraising efforts.
