Attic fire in Janesville caught early

A home on Pine Street in Janesville may have been saved thanks to a firefighters experienced inspection.  Firefighters were called to the 400 block of North Pine Street around 9:00 o’clock Thursday morning for a report of a sounding carbon monoxide detector.  When they arrived, one of the firefighters smelled smoke.  They found a fire smoldering in the attic.  Damage will top about $10 thousand because they had to dig through the ceiling.  Officials say the cause is likely electrical.
