A 53-year-old Brooklyn woman faces up to 10 years in federal prison after pleading guilty to stealing more than $230,000 from an Evansville financial institution.

Kimberly A. Redder admitted to taking money from the vault at Union Bank and Trust from 2000 until 2012 while she was employed as Head Teller and eventually Office Manager.

Redders told investigators that she hid her theft during random audits by filling out records inflating the amount of money kept in the vault.

Redders eventually admitted to the theft after a more thorough audit by an outside firm found more than $90,000 missing.

The bank attributed a loss of $230,881 to Redders’ theft. She repaid her former employer by converting her retirement account.
