The former owner of Janesville RV takes a plea deal in Rock County Court.
48-year-old Troy. M. Tofte of Evansville plead guilty to 15 of the 39 charges against him Monday in Rock County Court.
Authorities say while Tofte owned Janesville R-V, he failed to deliver trailers customers had purchased, and also sold trailers on consignment without turning the money over to the original owners.
As part of the plea deal, the prosecution agreed not to ask for more than 10 years in prison at sentencing on April 28th.
The amount of restitution owed to Tofte’s victims is estimated to be more than $400,000.
