Janesville School Board reviews district’s inclement weather procedures

The Janesville School Board reviewed the district’s inclement weather procedure Tuesday evening after an incident last Monday left many parents upset.
After the decision had been made to go forward with classes, bus drivers reported that the roads were too icy to continue their routes. The children that were already on the buses made it school but they rest did not.
To add fuel to the fire, the district’s server went down, delaying the notification of parents
In order to avoid a situation like January 13th, the district has taken to re-starting it’s servers weekly, and has also re-defined what it considers to be severe ice conditions as that which exceeds 1/16th of an inch thickness.
