Some residents in the Town of Beloit are concerned they’ll be left out, if the community incorporates. Town Administrator Ian Haas says state statutes require only a portion of the town be incorporated initially. He says an attorney will be hired for the residents not included in the first phase of the plan. Haas the goal is to ultimately keep the community whole. He says the list of benefits to incorporation include protection of the community from border erosion, increased potential for shared revenue, and more opportunities for economic development financing. The entire process is likely to take about a year.
