Beloit police make an arrest in a possible hate crimes case. Officers say 20-year-old Beloit College student Michael Kee, who reported derogatory racial and religious graffiti at his his dorm, was arrested after he admitted to writing the messages himself. When questioned, police say Kee admitted to writing the graffiti after seeing the way the campus came together, and wanted similar attention. Officials say the false report by Kee may only serve to diminish the legitimacy of other victims of these types of egregious offenses. Kee apparently maintained his innocence in a Facebook posting and claimed he made the confession under duress. Michael Kee was arrested on charges of obstruction, disorderly conduct and criminal damage.
