Janesville School Board votes to increase employee share of health insurance premiums

Janesville School District employees will see a slight increase in their health insurance premiums.
School Board Commissioner Bill Sodemann says it’s not that bad when you consider the district is covering 75 percent of a five percent increase in costs.
Under the proposal approved Tuesday night by the Board of Education, the district would pay for 88 percent of the cost of employee health insurance plans, while the employees would pay the other 12 percent.
The increase was necessary to cover a five percent total increase in health insurance costs.
