Progress is beginning to be seen on downtown Janesville’s revitalization plans. Janesville City Manager Mark Freitag is so excited about the significance of the Rock River parking deck’s removal, he drives by the demolition site every day on his way to work. Freitag tells Your Talk Show on WCLO the demolition and river reclamation is a pivotal event in reassuring the public that downtown revitalization is moving forward. He says as soon as the deck removal project is complete, phase one of the downtown revitalization plan can begin this summer. He says that will include a river lawn, raised pavilion, interactive water feature, stairs to the river, and even a small boat dock.
