Overnight storms are being blamed for a fire on Janesville’s south side. Firefighters were called to 200 Kellogg Avenue a little before 1:00 a.m. for a fire in a two story residential home. Officials say lighting struck a large tree and traveled into the home. The sole occupant of the home was awaken by the strike and safety got out of the home with his dog. Fire damage was isolated mostly to the second floor. Damage listed around $50 thousand.
