The Town of Beloit may be joining the ranks of police officers in the cities of Janesville, Milton, and Beloit in the use of body cameras. Chief Ron Northrup is currently reviewing the investment. Concerns include how to manage the database and also privacy rights for citizens. The chief does appear to embrace the transparency offered by cameras in showing how police conduct themselves in potentially controversial situations. After a review, the chief plans to make a recommendation to the town board.
