The Wisconsin Economic Development Corporation is awarding the Whitewater Community Development Authority a $75,000 matching grant to help get more businesses going. WEDC officials say the grant will function as a seed fund to provide a “diversified portfolio of micro-investments and grants,” to the startups and emerging growth companies. Whitewater Community Development Authority Chairman Jeff Knight says the money will help ensure that Whitewater continues to be a hotbed of entrepreneurial spirit. The Whitewater group is one of three Wisconsin organizations getting a total of $700,000 from the corporation.
