The issue may not have been on the Janesville City Council agenda, but that didn’t stop residents from sharing their support for keeping and repairing the Monterey Dam Monday night.
Gary Schultz told the council he’s willing to share some of the financial burden of the project by contributing $200,000 towards the repair.
A dozen people spoke out in support of keeping the dam Monday night.
While a citizen advisory committee recently recommended removal of the deteriorating structure, the City Council isn’t scheduled to make a decision until March 27th.
