The unemployment rates in Janesville and Beloit are on the rise. The State Department of Workforce Development reports the January unemployment rate for Janesville is up .6% from December and currently rests at 4.6%. The rate for Beloit is up 1.1% for January and is currently 5.5%. The DWD says these figures are not seasonally adjusted and an increase is not unusual because of winter time.
