The Janesville man accused in a 2000 sexual assault stands mute to the charges.
53-year-old Kelly L. Baxter faces charges of second-degree sexual assault by use of force and burglary.
Court Commissioner Stephen Meyer entered pleas of not guilty on Baxter’s behalf Friday afternoon in Rock County Court.
Baxter is accused of raping of a 78-year-old woman at her Janesville home nearly 17 years ago. Police last month announced the state Crime Lab had found a match between DNA found at the scene and Baxter’s.
Baxter is being held at the Rock County Jail on a $30,000 bond.
