The Milton School Board appears to be doing what it can for top teachers. School Board President Jon Cruzan says community members have directed the district to attract and retain high-quality teachers. Cruzan says board members think it’s important to do what they can to keep pay and benefits as attractive as possible. The board did just that Monday night. Members voted unanimously to give teachers the largest salary increase allowed under the state law known as Act 10. The raise for next year, agreed to by the board and teacher’s union, amounts to 1.26%.
