Lower Courthouse Park in Janesville could be covered in 3000 blue pinwheels over the weekend. The Safe and Stable Families Committee of Rock County hopes to collect a crowd at 11:00 Saturday morning to call attention to the problem of child abuse and neglect. Organizers say three-thousand cases of abuse and neglect were reported in Rock County in 2015. The group says child abuse and neglect has a long-term impact in social and financial costs to the county. Child victims are more likely to develop mental and physical health problems. Pinwheels for Prevention will include resource booths and speakers. April is National Child Abuse Prevention Month.
